Linda Cole Saunders, 77, of Roxboro, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Born in Halifax County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Cole and Irene Talley Cole.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warren David Saunders, Sr.; her infant daughter, Jennifer Nicole Saunders; her son, Warren David Saunders, Jr.; two siblings: Shirley Owen and Douglas Cole.
Mrs. Saunders was a member of the former Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Saunders worked for North American Aerodynamics. She was kind and gentle person who loved being able to help others. After losing her husband at an early age, Linda was a single mother who devoted her life to raising her children. She enjoyed reading her bible, listening to bluegrass music, going to dances and shopping.
Surviving are her daughter, Amanda Saunders (Frankie Dunevant) of Roxboro; three grandchildren: Donna Saunders of Raleigh, Deborah "Sissy" Saunders and Shannon Saunders, both of South Boston; lifelong friend, Linda Oakes of Roxboro; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Stacy Hill of Roxboro.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9AM-5PM Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Amanda Saunders (5221 Burlington Road, Roxboro, NC 27574).
Graveside service will be held 3 PM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Cole Family Cemetery (located across from Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 8007 E Hyco Road, Virgilina, VA 24598). Officiating will be the Dr. DuPre Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Vince Owen, Jason Owen, R.D. Cole, Larry Marshall, John "Skeet" King, Craig Wrenn, Ron Oakes and Tommy Oakes.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the love and care given by the caretakers at the Canterbury House and the Amedisys Hospice team.
