Obituary
Thomas Edwin Stanley
Obituary:

Thomas Edwin Stanley was born in Johnston County on September 28, 1943 to Walter Kermit and Mary Beasley Stanley. He was one of eleven children. Growing up, he worked on the farm with his parents and siblings.
In the 60’s, he was drafted to serve in the United States Army. He dutifully served his country until he was honorably discharged due to a medical condition.
After working several years with AgriBusiness, he became self-employed. Tommy was a people person, and he never met a stranger.
Tommy was a loving and devoted father to his five children. He was a brother, a friend, and a mentor. He left an impression on everyone that he met. He had a special relationship and was a grandfather figure and mentor to Jeffrey Ray, his special neighbor and friend for 6 ½ years.
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Walter Kermit and Mary Beasley Stanley, brothers, Walter Lee “Buck” Stanley, Kermit Ray Stanley, and Lynwood Earl Stanley.
Left to cherish his memory are his five children, Melloney Watson, Thomas Edwin Stanley, Jr., Beverly Stanley Fornes, Jessica Casteen Garner (Terrance), and Ashley Stanley; ten grandchildren, Layne, Lisa, and Lauren Stanley, Erika Tyndall (Whitney), Meagan Daughtry (Greg), Daniel Maynor, Jaida Ford, Ta’Maya Garner, Trae’Von Garner, and Madelyn McLamb; three great grandchildren: Wade Tyndall, Brielle Daughtry, and Brodie Daughtry; brothers: James Ethan, “Jay” Stanley, Dennis Arnold Stanley (Betty), Maurice Glenn Stanley (Mary), and Elbert Wayne Stanley (Elizabeth); sisters: Sue Fortner (Robert), Marcia Edgerton (Quincy), and Margie Hill.
Service will be held Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at 11:00 am at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton, NC. Burial will immediately follow at Bethel Original Freewill Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC.
The family will receive family and friends at 114 Matthis Road, Clinton NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Tim’s Gift in Clinton, NC.
