Biography
Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel was born on 28 April 1852. He was the son of Charles GeorgeNoel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Ida Harriet Augusta Hay. He married Ruth Lucas, daughter of W. H. Lucas on 7 October 1884. He died on 9 November 1917 at age 65.
He fought in the Ashanti War between 1873 and 1874. He fought in the Jowaki Expedition between 1877 and 1878. He fought in the Burmese War between 1885 and 1887. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.
