Lee's Summit, Missouri - Cynthia "Cindy" Elaine Reed of Lee's Summit, MO passed away March 1, 2021 in Kansas City, MO. She was born on September 23, 1955 to Gerald and Geraldine Gardner in Topeka, KS. A visitation will be held from 5pm – 8pm, at Langsford Funeral Home 115 SW 3rd St, Lee's Summit MO, 64063.
The oldest of 4 children, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, listening to music (especially Elvis), and shopping at Very Violet. In 1976 she married Gary Reed and they made their home Lee's Summit, MO. Cindy loved being a stay-at-home mom to her 4 daughters, and was loved by many of their friends who also considered her "their mom," because she was known for opening her home to everyone, being an outstanding listener and giving great advice. She was outgoing, hilarious and sincere. She could not have been prouder of her daughters, and was especially thrilled to become a grandmother for the first time in 2014. Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, her giving personality, quick wit, laugh, smile, and heart of gold. She is preceded in death by; parents Gerald and Geraldine Gardner, and nephew; Joel Gardner. Survivors include; loving husband of 45 years Gary Reed; daughters Natalie Tatum (Brett), Jennifer Ward (Mark), Laura Kornis (Todd), Alison Reed (Brett); Stepdaughter; Amee (Keith) and grandchildren Harper & Alex Tatum, Jack Kornis, and Korey and Kortney Small. As well as her 3 brothers, Kenny Gardner (Sue), David Gardner and Mark Gardner (Sherry) and her 14 nieces and nephews.
