She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on February 18, 1937 to Frank Parks Layne and Dixie Lee Nunley who preceded her in death along with her husband, Willie Dee Meeks; brothers Parks and Gene Layne and 2 infant brothers.
She was a member of the Collins Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Richard) Layne; sons, Jimmy (Deb) Meeks, Anthony (Sharon) Meeks and Rickey Meeks; sister, Laura Bell Tate; grandchildren, Kyra (Billy) Campbell, Brandon (Carissa) Layne, Deanna (Tyler Steele) Meeks, Hayden Meeks and Morgan Meeks; great grandchildren, Destiny (Luke) Hiett, Brevin, Hallow and Grayson; great-great grandchildren, Brayden, Raelynn Grace and Wesley David Hiett; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Fall Creek Cemetery with Minister Philip Fults officiating. Visitation 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
