Mary Lee Amos died at her home on Sunday, December 27, 2020, having celebrated her 98th birthday a month ago. She was born in Canalou, Stoddard Co., MO, on November 14, 1922, one of 15 children born to Thomas and Mary (Cowin) Griffaw. On April 14, 1941, she married James A. Amos in Cape Girardeau, MO, where they remained until 1947 when they relocated to the Kalamazoo area. Mary was a homemaker her entire life taking much pleasure in her family. She enjoyed yard sales, needlework and her flower gardens. She and James were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving Mary are her four children: Bobby (Shirley) Amos; Jackie (Jan) Amos; Glenda Ouding; and Jerry (Shirley) Amos, all from the Kalamazoo area; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Dolores "Tootie" Foster of Wisconsin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Mary in death were an infant daughter Judith Ann, her husband James on September 4, 2005, and a son-in-law Thomas Ouding in 2015. Due to gathering limitations at this time, a private family service will be held for Mary. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery
