Cremation has taken place. The St. Louis Moose Lodge will be celebrating Richard's life Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 1-4 P.M. at the St. Louis Moose Lodge, 811 Michigan Ave., St. Louis, MI. The family will hold a public Memorial Service at a later date.
Richard was born on October 2, 1959, the son of George J. and Lucille Marie (Owens) Dunbar. He graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School, Bedford, IN with the class of 1978. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army after High School.
Richard was an avid U of M fan and loved college basketball. He was a long time member of the St. Louis Moose Lodge where he enjoyed sharing a good burger and cold beer. He liked to go camping and tubing with his Lodge family. As Senior Bartender, he was known for his great Bloody Mary's and making people laugh. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his brother Shawn (Kelley) Dunbar, sisters-in-law: Mary Dunbar and Joann Crosby, nieces and nephews: Josh Dunbar, Nathan (Maryann) Dunbar, Joanna (Joey) Fuentes, Jenny (Bobby) Mihsill, Ben Dunbar, and Shelley Dunbar; and Aunt Ardie (Skip) Marsh. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers: G. Samuel Dunbar, and Kevin J. Dunbar.
