Diana (Slater) Jones, 76, of Harpursville, New York passed away to be with the Lord on February 27, 2021. She was born in Texas, grew up in Hallstead PA, and spent her last 53 years in Harpursville NY in the home that she cherished.
She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years Ronald Jones; her parents, Walter and Regina Slater; her brother, Walter Slater Jr; and her best friend, Kathy Rodriquez.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Dawn Jones Bennett, son, Ronald Jones Jr and son, Michael Jones; her two grandsons, David Bennett and Michael Bennett, her sister, Doralee (Jack); brothers, Oscar, Edward, Fredrick and Alex; several nieces and nephews and close friends, Larry and Marilyn Romich and Maria Simmons.
She had a lot of friends and people who adored her, she lived for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, family meant everything to her. She bragged about her kids and grandsons always, she was definitely proud of them all and supported anything they chose to do. Her love and values are something that will carry onto her family as well as her spirit that will always be with us. Known to most as Diane, Di or “ma”, she welcomed everyone into her home and was always willing to help someone if she could. She loved to laugh and have fun, and enjoyed life as much as she could. She was happiest when family and friends were around. She looked forward to her yearly NYC holiday day trips, trips with the family to Six Flags, bowling in the league with her friends, watching her NY Yankees, decorating for the holidays especially Christmas, working in her flower beds and eating out at restaurants. She loved anything with hearts, they were all over the house. She will always be remembered for her homemade spaghetti noodles, her famous Italian cookies and her great cooking. She was taken to soon and will be missed by many but she is at peace now.
Due to her wishes, there will he no services, she wanted to celebrate her life not mourn it, but due to covid-19 we have to postpone any celebration until restrictions are lifted.
