Graveside services for Mr. Milton Leon Jackson, age 85, of Mobile, Alabama, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Spring Bank Cemetery in Silas, Alabama, with Dr. David Gill officiating.

Mr. Jackson was born October 28, 1935, in Isney, Alabama. He passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Gulf Coast Health and Rehabilitation in Mobile.

Coach Jackson taught Math and Science, coached athletics, and served as Assistant Principal. He was a member of the Alabama High School Athletic Association, Organized the Lower Alabama Jubilee, attended First Baptist Church Flomaton, where he served as a Deacon and was a member of Gideons International. Upon his move to Mobile, Mr. Jackson attended the First Baptist Church of Theodore.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Hollingshead Jackson of Mobile; son, Milton Jackson (Cathy) of Athens, AL; daughter, Beverly Smith (Kent) of Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Alyssa Smith, Matthew Smith (Heather), Kristen Smith, and Kelly Ruh (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Kerrington Smith, Caden Smith, and Riley Ruh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Eugene Jackson; mother, Rosie Etta Lewis Jackson; brothers, Cecil Eugene Jackson, Marvin Condy Jackson, and Melvin Russell Jackson; and sisters, Eva Mae Jackson Doggett and Ruby Lee Jackson Gunn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Smith, Chris King, Billy Mosley, Jim Staples Taylor, Ron Jackson, and Ronny Freeman. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Gunn, Tim Gunn, and Billy Joe Jackson.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the family requests that masks are worn and social distancing guidelines be observed at the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Theodore, 7125 Bellingrath Rd., Theodore, AL 36582.
