Frankfort – John Franklin Medlock passed away February 28, 2021. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday. John was born in Frankfort, Ky on June 7th, 1948 to the late Frank and Vanessa Medlock. John graduated from Frankfort High School and retired from Kentucky State Government as the Maintenance Supervisor. In John’s spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and family. John was a member of First Baptist Church (Clinton Street) where he was a faithful and dedicated usher until his health declined and moved to Morehead, Ky where he attended Bread of Life Ministries with his son and daughter in-law. John was a longtime member of The Prince Hall Meridian Sun Lodge No.26. Most of all, John loved his family and will be remembered for being a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Friend and Fishing partner. John is survived by his adopted children, Jason (RoseAnn) Mays and Lisa Mays; grandchildren, Gregory Street, Jaida Mays, DiAnna Mays, and Olivia Mays; niece, Carmen Mays; and nephews, Scott Mays, Jonathan Mays, and Justin Mays; special cousins, Blanche Perkins, Frank “Smokie” Daniels, Brandy (Josh)Kelly, Monica Smith and Stephanie (Lenny) Lewis; and special friends, Tyrones Mitchell, Jimmy Smith, Richard Hawkins, Alex Ford and many more John never met a stranger. In addition to John’s parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance “Connie” Medlock and by a special cousin, Donna Smith.
