Death From Gunshot Wounds
Mr. E. D. Watkins, farmer, of Karcultalby, was found dead on his farm on May 21. Mr. S. Turley discovered the body when he called to see why Mr. Watkins had not attended a social the previous evening. Mr. Watkins was lying on his bed with a rifle by his side. Dr. Trudinger was called, but life was extinct. Mounted Constable G. Ryan prepared a report for the coroner (Mr. H. K. Freeman, of Karcultaby), who deemed an inquest unnecessary, as it was evident the wound had been self-inflicted. The body was interred at Minnipa, the Rev. Morgan conducting the burial service.
