He enjoyed traveling back to Arkansas to visit family and friends. He was a skilled mason and when he wasn't working, he was an avid Nascar fan.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Mearl Clark Barnes; beloved wife Marcella Barnes; Trudy Cross of Moro, AR; Charles Barnes of Cushman, AR; Bonnie Pilgrim of Lepanto, AR; Bill Barnes of Monterey, LA; and Freddie Barnes.

He is survived by children; Debra Hallet, Quentin (Debbie) Barnes, and Clayton (Dianne) Barnes, grandchildren; Nicole Lee, Heather Reid, Sonja Ferber, Alyssa Taylor, Brock Barnes, Tyrel Taylor, Dylan Phelps, and Savannah Barnes, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings; Bob (Geraldine) Barnes of Lepanto, AR, Betty Baughn of Monterey, LA, Agnes Smalling of Monterey, LA, Teddy Barnes of Fayetteville, AR, Dean (Joyce) Barnes, Jackie Barnes and Debbie Tyler of Lepanto, AR.

Services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel beginning with a Viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Pima Cemetery.
