Patsy Lee Collins 66 of Ladysmith died on Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at her home. She was born in Phillips on May 16, 1950, and lived in Phillips for a large part of her life. She served her country in the United States Army Medical Corps as a Medic in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam War. She was married to William P. Stanke Sr, and they later divorced. She attended and then in 1998 earned Bachelor Degrees in Art and Native American Crafts at Mount Senario College in Ladysmith. She then continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she worked toward a Masters Degree. She attended many churches in Rusk County over the years, most recently the church in the Town of Grant. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and she rang the bell for the Salvation Army for many years

She is survived by 2 sons; William Philip Stanke, Jr. of Prentice, WI, Timothy Paul Stanke of Phillips, WI, one daughter; Victoria Lynn Stanke of Bruce, WI, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 brothers; Ralph Collins of Montana and Michael Bacholl of Wisconsin and by one sister; Candy (maiden name Bacholl) Sankey of Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Pastor Terry Sellers of the Word of Life Family Church officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778 of Phillips and the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 of Phillips. Patsy’s family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the Funeral Home in Phillips. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips.
