Kenneth H. Welch, 84, of Columbus, Ga passed away on April 8, 2020 in the comfort of his home. The family will have a private memorial service on Friday, April 10, 2020. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date when the COVID-19 crisis subsides.
Mr. Welch was born on May 22, 1935, son of late Essie June and John A. Welch. He grew up with 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
He served in the U.S Airforce as a Fuel Specialist during the Korean War. After the war he spent some time in various careers before opening up his own business, Kens Service Company (Heating/Air & Electrical).
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, camping and fishing. He was an avid racecar driver fan, and enjoyed spending time with his daughter at East Alabama Motor Speedway when she was growing up. After he retired, he enjoyed spending all of his time helping raise his grandkids, which were so precious to him. His family will always remember his smile and giving heart.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Welch, Columbus, Ga, daughter Mandy Peterson (Lee), Cataula, Ga and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan and Branton Peterson. He is also survived by his 4 other children, Penny, Kenny, Sheryl and Judy.
