Jean was born on February 10, 1936 to Paul Reeb and Ruth Notting Reeb in McAllen, TX. She passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2020.

Jean is survived by her husband of 16 years, Alan May, daughter Lorrie May Gazette & her husband Mark Gazette, daughter Cindy Schroppel and her husband, Joe Schroppel, son Paul Sarver and his wife Jacci Kilgore, step-son John May, step-daughter Kini Philpot, brother Alan Reeb, and daughter-in-law Kim Sarver.

She had 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ruth Reeb, sister Millie Stanley, husband Daniel W. Sarver, Sr., son Daniel W. Sarver, Jr., and grandson Christopher Scott Hutchins.

Jean was raised in Flour Bluff, TX where she met her husband, Alan May, on May 10, 1952. Together, they had one child, Lorrie Jean, and then they divorced on August 2, 1956.

Later in 1956, Jean married Daniel W, Sarver, Sr. and they had 3 children together, Daniel W. Sarver, Jr, Cindy Schroppel and Paul Sarver. Jean was married to Dan for 46 years until his death in 2002.

Jean remarried Alan on December 24, 2003 and they lived in West Palm Beach, FL for 2 years, and then moved to Tyler, TX for 11 years before moving to Houston in 2017.

They attended First Baptist Church in Flint, TX and The Church at 242 in Conroe after moving to Houston.

Jean was a multi-talented person with multiple careers. She worked through school as a waitress in her parent’s restaurant. She then went on to work as a Supervisor for the Marine PX in Camp LeJeune, NC. In Houston, she was employed as a Manager of the NASA Cafeteria. She managed a Things Remembered Engraving shop in Alameda Mall for many years before leaving to become a Master Engraver for NASA. After Dan’s transfer to Canada, Jean opened her first engraving shop in Calgary, Canada, but her proudest accomplishment was operating her own store, Personally Yours Engraving & Gifts from 1988 to 2003 in Houston, TX.

After retiring from being a business owner, Jean went on to work for Kroger’s as a Cashier and then Customer Service Manager. In addition, she worked part time during tax season for H & R Block as a Tax Preparer.

Jean loved her dogs, enjoyed traveling the world over, cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, camping, fishing, and passionately routing for her Houston Astros and Texans.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9th at 12:00pm at The Church at 242 located at 9268 State Highway 242, Conroe, TX 77385.
