Sheila “Gail” Phillips, age 57, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

Gail was born on September 11, 1963 in Louisville, KY to the late Curtis Dean Calhoun and Jewell Elee Foster Calhoun. She loved family gatherings and holidays with her family. She also enjoyed camping and cooking. Gail worked at Treetop Daycare and loved her babies and kids and they loved her too. Beyond anything else she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Phillips, whom she married on August 20, 2000 at Sunnyside Baptist Church; one son, Jeffrey Kyle Phelps of Hamilton, OH; one brother, Curtis (and Sheila) Calhoun of London; two sisters, Vicky Jean Taylor (and Chris Rink) of Somerset and Theresa Jane (and Robert) Willis of Greenfield, IN; and three grandchildren, Scarlett Ann Phelps, Oktober “Toby” Phelps and Kori Jo Phelps.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jason Glenn Phelps; and one brother, Ricky Dean Calhoun.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Lawson and Bro. Raymond Ridner officiating. Burial will be at Ringgold Cemetery.
