Carolyn Sue Powell was born Carolyn Sue Chandler on September 15, 1929 the youngest of thirteen children.
She passed away on February 27, 2021. She was 91 years old.
She married James Hilton Powell on February 1, 1951. They had two children Sam Hilton and Timothy James Powell.
She was preceded in death by husband James and son Timothy.
She is survived by son Sam, three grandchildren, Samantha Ables, Connor and Joshua Powell. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, James and Jocelyn Jordan, and McKinley Ables. She was the beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Seymour High School. She was a long term Baylor County resident except for a period from 1968 to the late 1970’s when she and James lived in Haskell, Texas and owned Haskell Livestock Auction where she was an office manager. She was a dedicated Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. David Warren officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
