Elsie was born to the late Ted and Lillian (nee Strehlow) Kohn on August 15, 1940, in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Doyle James Moore on May 23, 1959, also in Milwaukee.
Elsie was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. For several years, Elsie was employed in food service for DAKA and worked in the Racine Unified School District. She also invested time volunteering for the food pantry, Share. Elsie enjoyed crafts, such as, crochet and playing card games including: Sheepshead, Poker, Thirteen, and Rummy 500. She also loved her precious flowers in her gardens. She was a wonderful cook and cared for her family well. Above all, Elsie loved her family and cherished every moment with them.
Elsie will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Doyle; children: Terrie Moore, Richard (Caren) Moore, and Robert Moore; grandchildren: David (Amanda) Heiser, Joshua (Samantha) Heiser, and Caleb Moore; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Aaron, Daniel, Jaxson, and Alayana; best friends of 75 years, Arlene Paap; along with several other relatives and friends. Elsie is predeceased by her grandson, Christopher John Heiser.
A Celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Monday, January 25, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Chris Lockie officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
