Johnny Elbert Bowen, of Odessa, Texas and formerly of Pocola, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001. He was born Oct. 13, 1953 in Oklahoma City. He was a cemetery pre-need counselor. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola and very active in the Vision for Life Organization. He loved his family and family reunions. He was a faithful and loyal friend, kind and compassionate to all and will be sorely missed by every life he touched.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Lovell Bowen and a sister Stacy Lynn Restine.

Survivors include his wife, Suze Bowen of the home; one son, Johnathan Bowen of Pocola; two step sons, Phillip Westmoreland and Aaron Westmoreland, both of Odessa, Texas; his father, Jack Bowen of McCurtain; two sisters, Lorita and Eldon Riley of Hartshorne and Lois and Albert Carry of Keota; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Trinity Baptist church in Pocola with the Revs. Paul Walker and Richard Maness officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
