Mrs. Carolyn Neal Griffin Hill, age 74, of Washington, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
    Carolyn was born on March 14, 1946 to Robert L. (Bobby) and Verna Cratch Griffin.  Carolyn grew up in the Wharton Station community.
    On December 19, 1964, she married John R. Hill II who survives. She is also survived by her children, Debora Cherry (Ed) and Bert Hill (Nancy); grandchildren, Amanda Leggett (Justin), Carolyn Hill (Matthew Jefferson), John Hill IV (Samantha Long), Brandon Cherry (Jamie Hagadorn) and Ji Paramore; great grandchildren, Gavin Ji Paramore, Karson Wayne Leggett; two brothers, Robert L. Griffin (Sylvia), Joey Griffin all of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Carolyn had a passion for plants and flowers. Before her health declined, she could be found outside in her yard or in the greenhouse.
    Carolyn was a member of First Christian Church.
   A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday March 1, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Dr. Jacob Kines.  The family will receive friends immediately following at the graveside.
