Obituary

Patricia Joy (Wight) Dugger was born December 6, 1945 in South Baltimore, to the late Edward M. “Mike” Wight, Sr. and Flora E. (Fitzhugh) Wight. She was a 1963 graduate of Southern High School in South Baltimore. Pat married the late James E. Dugger October 12, 1966. They were married for 28 years, until his passing in 1995. She worked at General Ship Repair, Coca-Cola, and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 32 years of service as a civilian. She enjoyed traveling with her friend Betty Langrehr. Pat was also a breast cancer survivor.

Pat and James purchased a home in the Solley neighborhood in Anne Arundel County, where she lived for 46 years, until her health required her to move into an assisted living community in Catonsville. She was a life-long fan of Elvis. Her most prized possession in her room was her high school poster of him.

She is survived by her brother Edward M. “Mike” Wight, Jr., sister Marsha G. (Wight) Wise and husband John, niece Michele Whitley and husband Paul, nephews Kevin Wight, Matthew Wise (godson), Jared Wise, and Jason Wise; grand-nieces Jenna Hemling, Lauren Hemling, Mackenzie Whitley, Reece Wight, and grand-nephew Ryan Wight; aunt Joanne Fitzhugh; former sister-in-law Joann Brannan; godson Ronald Steinbach; cousin Jeanette Moulton and many, many beloved cousins.

Family will have a private viewing on the morning of Tuesday, April 21st. Public viewing will be in the funeral home’s atrium on the front porch from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please practice social distancing, wear a mask, and do not congregate in the parking lot. A memorial service will be held when social distancing is no longer a concern. Burial will be private.

Family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Maryland Food Bank, 2200 Halethorpe Farms Rd., Baltimore, MD 21227, https://mdfoodbank.org/donate/ to help those in need during this pandemic.
