Donald Lee Long was born October 6, 1930, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Daniel and Helen (Hodges) Long. He proudly served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, during the Korean War. He married Marilyn Ann Proctor on June 2, 1956, in Wilton. He was employed with Grain Processing Company in Muscatine, until he retired in 1993. He later worked as a greeter at Walmart in Muscatine.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn; three daughters, Melanie (Ray) LaPoint, Maurita (Everett) Goodrich and Miracle (Steve) Zaehringer, all of Wilton; one son Monty (Nancy) Long of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Tim) Evans of Milan, IL; and two brothers, John (Joyce) Harper of Fairfield, CA, and Larry (Linda) Harper of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Long, his mother Helen Harper, one sister, Eileen O'Banion and four brothers, Delbert, Raymond, Kenneth and Gerald Long.
