Son of Donald A and Della M (Oyster) Walker.
Brother of Richard Walker and was preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice Petty and brothers, Russell and Robert Walker
He was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys "Jeannie" (Tidenberg) Walker
He was the husband of Carolyn S (Stevenson) Walker, who he married March 22, 1986
Father of James Walker, and Timothy Walker, and step-daughter, Alisa Radcliffe,
Grandfather of three grandsons, and eight great-grandchildren
He was a 1945 graduate of Louisville High School
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army in Germany and Austria
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Mount Union College in 1950
Masters Degree from Kent State University in 1954.
PhD from The Ohio State University, graduating in 1967.
He had a long and distinguished career as and educator in Stark County.
Beginning his career as a teacher and guidance counselor at Canton South High School.
Principal of Amos McDaniel, Harter and Worley Elementary Schools.
He served as Superintendent of Canton Local Schools, Louisville City Schools and the Canton City School District.
He served at Malone College as a Professor in Education and Behavioral Sciences, Chairman of The Division of Education and Psychology, and as Executive Vice President of the College.
Dr. Walker received many recognition and professional awards. The first Junior High School in Canton Local School District was named in his honor in 1962, and he was inducted into the Canton South Hall of Fame in 2020.
The Ohio Senate and House of Representatives passed resolutions for his service in Ohio.
During his career he had the unique ability and desire to step in to solve problems and help in time of need in many districts and situations.
