Mrs. Price was born on Saturday, September 3, 1960 to the late Ruben and Helen (Clark) Simpson in Rosston, Arkansas. Linda came to Mansfield with her family 53 years ago.
She was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School graduating class of 1978 and attended Akron University. Linda was employed with the City of Mansfield and during her employment with the city, she was promoted to Manager of Mansfield Bureau of Building and Codes, retiring in 2011 after 30 years of service. After retirement, Linda stayed busy helping her longtime friend Cindy Baker, owner of Downtown Wigs and Fashion. . Linda was a member of Providence Baptist Church of Mansfield Ohio where she loved praising the Lord with song and hearing the word. She enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family
Linda is survived by her husband of 18 years, Major C. Price Jr; daughter, Dayna Mills, Olmstead Falls; son, Orlando (Minga) Chatman Jr., Marion; 2 stepsons, Christopher (Jenna) Price, and Courtland Price, Columbus; three grandchildren; Isaiah and Brooklynn Mills, and Marianna Chatman; three sisters, Ferrie (Vernon) Bailey, Chandler, Arizona; Dorothy (Pleas) Everson, Mansfield, and Barbara (Dan) Michalec, Medina, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Ida McLeod, Claude, William, Larry and Samuel Simpson; and step-sister, Ruby Billard.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, at 11:00 A.M. in the Providence Baptist Church with her Pastor Mark Cobb officiating. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. till time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
