John Charles Shore went home to be with His Savior the morning of February 26 2021. He was born in Bethania, North Carolina on September 27, 1930 to John Aubrey and Lucy Mae Shore. He passed away peacefully at home with his Wife of more than 66 years, Aurora Adaline Barker Shore by his side.

John entered the Air Force on October 25, 1950 and completed Basic Training in San Antonio where he met Adaline shortly thereafter. John continued his Air Force career until February 1, 1961 when he transferred to the Army as a Warrant Officer. He completed his Military Service in the Army as a CW03 Warrant Officer on February 28, 1971 when he retired. He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Adaline, his sisters Ruby Jean Shore Furches, Vada Mae Shore Byrd and husband Boyd A. Byrd, his sons John (Chuck) Shore Jr. and wife Rebecca Lee Dew Shore, James (Jim) Shore and wife Angelika Krauss Shore. Also surviving John are his grandchildren John David Shore and wife Lindy Shore, James William Shore, Regan Burrus Mengel and Keith Mengel, Kailen Mackenzie Shore, Jordan Bode Shore, and Morgan Faith Shore. Additionally John is survived by 4 Great Grandchildren, Tessa Ann Mengel, Abel Michael Mengel, Davis Asher Mengel, and Karsen Layne Bishop.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly.
