Mrs. Mary C. Wood, 91, formerly of Elm Street, died Sunday at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, where she had been a patient since July 1982.

A prayer service will be at 9:30 am Wednesday at the Donald F. Virkler Funeral Home, followed at 10 am by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Peter's Church, with Rev. Bernard Christman, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Croghan.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Tuesday.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Anna Mae) Russell, RD; five grandchildren, five step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A son, Franklin, a daughter, Catherine, and two brothers, Clarence and Ernest Pierre died previously.

She was born Oct. 31, 1892 in the Town of Montague, a daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Lomber Pierre. She was educated in local schools.

She was married April 19, 1915 to William Dicob. He died in May 1932. She was married in June 1936 to Luther Wood. He died May 5, 1957.

She lived in Glenfield and Lowville area most of her life, working as a domestic. She also was employed by the Lowville Basket Factory. For the past few years, she had made her home with her daughter.

She was a member of St. Peter's Church.
