Michael Eugene Douglas

Bossier City - Michael Eugene Douglas was born in Ruston, Louisiana on November 10, 1954 to Eugene and Marian Douglas.

Mike, 66, loving husband, father, son and Papaw lost his battle with cancer and died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian, and his aunt, Julia Lee Douglas.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Roxanne (nee Harris) and their two children, son Matthew Michael Douglas and his daughter Michelle Elizabeth and her husband John Robert (Bobby) Hartley; his father Eugene Douglas, sister Carole Rebbel and her husband James G. Rebbel; grandchildren Jaxon Brett Hartley; Zachary Christopher Douglas and his wife Madison (nee Hogan) and their son Ashton Dean; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Thank you to his medical doctors Anil Veluvolu, Michael Stratton, Richard Jacobson and Himanshu Desai for their care, which extended Mike's time with his family during the last three years.

Visitation will be at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, LA on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. Mike's funeral Mass will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 N. Market Street, Shreveport, LA on March 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. with a procession to the graveside at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Arnold, Louis Digilormo, Buck Harris, Bobby Hartley, Jim Rebbel, and Jim Roberts; honorary pallbearer is fishing buddy and long-time friend Richard (Rick) Harris.

Reception will follow the burial at St. Pius.
