Born Nov. 8, 1939, in West Pittston, she was a daughter of the late David and Hazel Doris Brettscneider Albert.
Pat attended the Bethel United Methodist Church. Pat was a member of the former Avoca Hose Co. 1 Auxiliary and a former Girl Scout Leader.
In addition to raising her loving family, Pat worked at Martz Trailways as a ticket agent. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila M. Matthews Pitts; and several brothers and sisters.
Pat is survived by loving husband of 64 years, Robert J. Matthews, Avoca; loving daughters Elaine O'Brien, Avoca; Patricia Strelecki, Avoca; and JoAnn Nayavich and her husband, David, West Wyoming; loving sons, Thomas and his wife, Dolores, Avoca; and Kenneth Matthews, Avoca; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother Henry; and sisters Judy, Maureen and Karen.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 Main St., Avoca.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca.
