Jerry Michael Allen, 81, of Spindale, NC died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his home. Born in Rutherford county, NC, he was the son of the late William Howard "Bill" Allen and Lois Henderson Allen and widower of the late Carolyn Jolene Harris Allen and also, his second wife, Beverly Williamson Allen. Jerry lived in Newport News, VA for many years and worked as an aeronautical engineer for NASA at the Langley Research Center until his retirement. In 2017 he returned home to Rutherford county. He was a member of Florence Baptist Church, Forest City. In earlier years, he and Carolyn enjoyed tennis and traveling together. Jerry was a Civil War and World War II buff and enjoyed reading. When his children were younger and competed in swimming, he served as a volunteer representative for the swim team. Jerry will be remembered as a quiet, kind, and gentle person.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Allen and wife Krista of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Allen and wife Jennifer of Arlington, VA; daughter, Kellie Terry and husband Scott of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Stella, Grace, Luke, Maggie, Will, and Wes; and his special friend, Pat Gordon.

A small graveside service will be held 2 pm Saturday, November 27th, in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, with Rev. Tonya Garrison officiating.
