Hershel N. Bice, 71, a resident here for 47 years, died February 9 at the Bishop hospital. Mr. Bice was born in Soper, Oklahoma on July 29, 1916. He is survived by his wife, Vivienne Bice of Big Pine and daughters Marilyn Brolsma of Bishop, Carolyn L"Heureux of Morro Bay, Diane Bice Bolander of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Shirley Booth of Whitney, Texas. He was the brother of Eugene Bice, El Paso; Kathlyn Hollingsworth, Duncan Oklahoma; Nell Thomas, Gilmer, Texas; Gerri Cuff, Santa Ana; and Beth Tucker, Wilson, Oklahoma. Also surviving are three granddaughters and three grandsons. Mr. Bice was a member of Glacier Post 457, American Legion. Memorial services will be held on Monday at the Big Pine Community United Methodist Church. Military service will be conducted by the American Legion Post.
