DANNY RAY HANCOCK

Danny Hancock, 57, formerly of Sweetwater, passed away on Sept. 19, 2007, in Macon, Ga. after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by a son, Michael Bryan Gardner of Sweetwater, and granddaughter, Regan Kenley Gardner of Aspermont; two brothers, Robert Allen Hancock and wife Nancy of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Johnny Hancock and wife Edna of Joplin, Mo.; one sister, Allene Smith of Joplin, Mo.; an aunt, Clara Hale of Sweetwater; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Hancock of Sweetwater; his mother, Ovella McCarty Kirkman of Joplin, Mo.; and an infant sister, Patricia Hancock.

Graveside services will be Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Donald Hunt officiating. McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of local arrangements.

Ron (Sherry's husband) spoke with his cousin this morning to confirm that Danny Hancock was actually cremated & his ashes were scattered over the graves of his dad (Grady Hancock) & grandmother (Elizabeth Hancock) in that same block. So please change his memorial to "cremated" & you can state what was done with the ashes. Ron's cousin (Bobby Hancock) said that he was at the "ash scattering service".
