Husband of Gwen Fowler Oglesby, he was born in Spartanburg County, S.C. and was a son of the late Melton "Bub" Oglesby and Martha Wood Oglesby.
He was a 1972 graduate of Gaffney High School, a member and deacon of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cowpens, and a veteran of the United States Army.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; 3 siblings, Wyatt Oglesby, John Oglesby, and Kathy Fitzpatrick; a grandson, Chancellor Latimer.
Surviving are: his wife, Gwen Oglesby; children, Eugenia Johnson, Sierra Michael, and Michael Oglesby, II; grandchildren, LaNyia, Alexiaua, Antony, Arreis, Dekaury, and Wyatt; brothers, James Robert Oglesby (Sara), Ulysses Oglesby (Deloris), Rev. Benjamin Oglesby, Kenneth Oglesby, and Terry Oglesby (Shelia); other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be Friday, 3:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Derrick Wood officiating.
