Ramona Qualls, the daughter of Barbara Ann Qualls and the late Theodore Randolph was born on October 12, 1959 in Washington, NC. Today we pause to pay tribute to the life and legacy of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
As a child, she received her education in the Washington City Schools System.  She graduated from Washington High School, class of 1977.  She was employed at Donnelly Marketing for over twenty years.
Ramona accepted Christ at an early age.  She was raised in a Christian home with the belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She continued her Christian walk as a dedicated member of The Temple of Jesus Christ.
Mona, as she was affectionately known and “Mawa” by her grandchildren, was a gentle spirit.  She was a nurturer at heart that reflected in her beautiful smile.  This overflowed in her daily life as she played a helping hand in babysitting and raising many of the kids in the community and the family. Her home, 1108 Pierce Street, was somewhat of a sanctuary to many and everyone was always welcomed with the loving arms of Mona.  She was a true friend, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother.
Ramona was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Randolph and Grandmother/Mother Eleanor Louise Qualls.
Ramona leaves to cherish forever, her devoted children Paris Qualls, Cynthia Qualls, Crystal Smith of Washington, NC and Stephon Smith of Grimesland, NC., mother Barbara Ann Qualls of Yonkers, NY.; sister Denise Allen (Lawrence) of Raleigh, NC.; 12 loving grandchildren, ~Prince~ Tayevon Blackledge, Cyntavea “CC” Blackledge, Treasure Biggs, Justus “Jay” Biggs, Kesiah Blackledge, Taliyah Roulhac, Tayquan “Quan” Blackledge, Cristie “Cris” Roulhac,  Quincy “Nook” Moore, Quintae Moore, Ashanti “Tootie” Godley, and Messiah Smith; 3 grandchildren-in-kind, Ja’Laysia Gibbs, Ja’Nilah Gibbs, Jahzelle “Jazzy” Gray; 1 Godson Dewitt Warren; 4 aunts Margaret King, Cynthia Moore, Brenda Gorham and Robin White (Victor), 1 uncle Frankie Gorham (Mabel) , 3 lifelong girlfriends Evelyn Moore, Pearlie “Rita” Brown, and Sharon “Bo Bo” Blount; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
