David Bruce entered this world on November 10, 1941 and left to be with our Jesus on February 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his Mother Vivian Marie Vandenberg, Father, Samuel B. Bruce, sisters, Barbara Perkins, Agnes Bruce, Willie Tidwell, and brothers Arthur, Bill and Robert Bruce and Tom and Kenneth Bruce-Porter.

David was a hard worker, he worked for Maylon Construction as a backhoe operator and any heavy equipment. He was an equipment operator there for 30 years and then retired from Ark Up after 21 years at the age of 76.

He is leaving his loving wife Louise, two daughters Shirley Kornegay and Loretta Bruce, two grandsons, Floyd and Ethan Kornegay, loving sister-in-law’s Tressa Hendrix and Donna Spells; nephews Randall and Edward Hendrix, Jack and Arless Spells; nieces, Jessica and Natalie Hendrix, Dawn Carson, Debbie Reuiss, Theresa Dominique, Tracy Eggleston, and several Great nieces and nephews. He is also leaving behind many friends who will miss him.

Pallbearers will be Steven Mahon, Calvin Mahon, Doug Heran, Jerry White, Mike Gowen, and Joel Middleton. Service will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Barnard

He is of Christian Faith and loves Jesus. Close to the end when he was still talking, he stuck his arm up in the air and started singing, “I love Jesus. David will be missed by all who liked and loved him.

He loved his fur babies Julie, Leah, Smokey, Bella and Pepper. He also loved his music and to pick and lay his guitar.
