Jerry R. Parrish Sr.
Jerry Rogers Parrish Sr., 79, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Vance County, NC, he was the son of the late Lemmie Eugene Parrish, and Lessie Gupton Parrish.
Mr. Parrish was retired from Clayton Homes and was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Aubrey Florence. Burial will follow in the Travis Family Cemetery.
Surviving is his wife of forty-seven years, Jo Ann Travis Parrish; one daughter Andrea P. McDaniel (Timothy); two sons, Donnie W. Parrish (Cynthia), and Jerry R. Parrish Jr. (Deborah); five grandchildren, Dylan McDaniel, Taylor Parrish, Michelle Beckwith, Hannah Parrish and Brandon Newhouse, and one great-grandchild, Lillien Beckwith; three sisters and two brothers. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.
Serving as pall bearers will be Chuck Parrish, Mark Parrish, David Beckwith, Timmy Parrish, Eugene Parrish, Ricky Travis and Brandon Newhouse.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Jerry and Deborah Parrish.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sossamon Funeral Home, P.O. Box 138 Henderson, NC 27536.
