Manuel Vicente Alfredo da Costa, better known as Alfredo da Costa, was a physician and Medicine professor, one of the pioneers of obstetrics in Portugal. He was honored in the name of Alfredo da Costa Maternity, one of Lisbon's main maternity hospitals.
