Special Note: David Michael and James Edward were born to Winifred Coles on 9 JUL 1967 at Barberton Citizens Hospital, Barberton, Ohio. (Summit County). The twins were born severely premature, and sadly, one passed the same day (Twin A), and the other (Twin B) passed the next day, 10 JUL 1967. The babies’ birth certificates were completed with their names, however, for reasons that are not completely clear, their death certificates were filled out as Baby Boy Coles and Baby Boy Coles “B”. (Generally speaking, the first twin to be born is designated as Twin A and the second is Twin B until they are given names.) As of 4 MAR 2021, I have been unable to determine which baby (David or James) was Twin A and which was Twin B, and therefore which infant passed on 9 JUL and which passed on 10 JUL. Unfortunately, in 1967 in the state of Ohio, birth times were not recorded on birth certificates, so it is unknown if David or James was born first, so there is no way to know which was designated as Twin A. Neither the funeral home nor the cemetery has any information beyond what is provided on the death certificates. I will continue my research and, when able, will replace Twin A and Twin B with the babies’ proper names.

Gravesite Details
(The grave does not bear any marker indicating that the twins are interred there, however, the cemetery staff ensures that their records indicate that this is indeed the case.)
