Obadiah was the last child that Ann & Samuel Allen (1588-1648) of Windsor, CT had before Samuel died. His brother Deacon Thomas Allen soon adopted little Obadiah, and he was brought up in Middletown, CT, where Thomas was a founding father. Obadiah married Elizabeth Sanford (1648-1700), and after she died, Mary Savage. Obadiah started quite a clan in that area with numerous descendants. Whether or not he remained in touch with his mother, his brothers and his sisters who moved to Northampton, MA, (around 1652 ? with mother Ann, who had married William Hulbird, ) I do not know. But on my tree I have some evidence! Obadiah's granddaughter Elizabeth Allen (1707-1762,) of Middletown married Jonathan Allen (1704-1793) from Northampton, grandson of Obadiah's brother Samuel Allen. (Jonathan and Elizabeth settled in Middletown. ) [I will come back and add children.]

There is no stone for Obadiah (that Find-a-Grave has listed) but Riverside Cemetery is the oldest cemetery there and the only one that was used at that time for Middletown.
