Surviving are his wife of Claysburg, four children Robert Walter of Queen, Ethan Walter of Osterburg, Heidi Fishel and husband Ben of Tyrone and Sarah Walter of Alum Bank, five grandchildren Grayson, Kolton, Zayne, Micah and Karter and two sisters Amy Ickes of Claysburg and Cheri Stephens of East Freedom.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Kathryn Brown Walter.
Jim was a 1977 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. He retired as a supervisor from Creative Pultrusions in 2016, after 39 years of service.
Jim enjoyed hunting, being in the woods and spending time with friends and family.
