Samuel served in the Vermont Line in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in Capt. Veal's Co., Col. Beedle's Reg't. for 10 months in 1775-6. He spent 1 year in Capt. Grenbem's Co.

He moved from Vermont to Albany County, New York on 26 May 1832, with his son David. He died 11 January 1843 in Watervliet, Albany County, New York.
