York - Vernon W. Smith, 93, entered into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at York Hospital. Born on March 3, 1927, the son of the late Cora (Adamire) and William Smith. Vernon worked at Colony Park Bowling Alley and went on to retire from there after 40 years.
Vernon leaves to cherish his memory, his niece and care taker, Karen E. Sutch; nieces, Ruth E. Sier, Brenda A. Brown and Debra J. Detzel; sister-in-law, Dorothy A. Smith; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Rev. Richard and Roy Smith.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St, York. Vernon will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Mount Rose Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. Family and friends that wish to attend the burial should meet at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. at 9:30 a.m. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
