Lisa Annette Cox, 56, of Dublin, Va., died Thursday, Nov. 3, at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville, Va.

She was born April 5, 1960, in Radford, Va. Lisa was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Pulaski, Va. She attended the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany, for two years, graduating from the campus in University Park, Md., and later attended Arizona State University and Radford University. She spent many years in Arizona working for Canyon Explorations, and taught elementary school for the state on the Navajo reservation in Chinle. She taught in Pulaski County several years. Lisa was an avid reader and loved traveling here and abroad, and has lived in many states and Europe during her father’s military career.

She is survived by her parents retired Col. Dallas and Betty Cox of Dublin; sister Renee Jucker and husband Markus of Renton, Wash.; niece Katherine (Nick) Newton of Ellensburg, Wash.; nephew Joe Jucker of Renton, Wash.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski, with Pastors Vickie Houk and Dennis Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time Thursday.
