Joseph A. Hughes of Weymouth, passed away February 23rd. Beloved husband of Margaret A. (Gray)Hughes. Father of Joseph Hughes of Natick, Elizabeth Hughes of OR, Brian Hughes of Hathorne, Catherine Black of NC, and the late Michael J. Hughes. Brother of the late Mary Foley, Catherine Earle, and Rita Conlon. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Born in Cambridge, he was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School, East Cost AeroTech in Bedford. He was a Lead Inspector for Northeast and Delta Airlines for many years before retiring. Joe was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Fernald League in Waltham where he was a staunch advocate for the disabled. He was passionate about aviation and enjoyed music and Boston Sports teams, especially the Red Sox.
