Catherine, Kay to her friends and family, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 surrounded by her husband and children. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Jack Calloway, at St. Sabina’s Chapel in Chicago on August 17, 1957 and raised three children. They moved to Walnut Creek, CA in 1972 when Jack was transferred by his company Union Oil.

Kay lived a life filled with love, travel, dancing, reading, old movies and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed listening and dancing to Big Band music. In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing, swimming, and playing the accordion.

Throughout her life she worked as an office manager, realtor, administrative assistant, volunteered at her children’s school and was a catechism teacher for her church in Illinois. She was active attendee in her church, St John Vianney, until her health declined and she became homebound.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will most be remembered for her smile, quirky sense of humor, and love of her family. Her devotion and love for Jack could be seen by anyone who spent a few minutes in her presence. She maintained her positive attitude and kind disposition to the end.

Kay is survived by husband Jack; three children and their spouses Mary and Bruce Peterson, Terri Calloway, Tom and Lisa Calloway; grandchildren, Becky MacDonald, Jennie Peterson, Jack Calloway, Abby Calloway; and great grandchildren, Wyatt MacDonald and Savvy MacDonald.

Rest in peace, we love you.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, CA with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will take place for friends and family later in the year.
