Mary "MarySue" Mijares Castillo born Dec 22, 1937, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 19, 2020. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jose C. Castillo and beloved daughter Melinda; her parents Jose and Maria Mijares Sr.; sisters Otilia, Ernestina, Paula, Ruth and Aurora; brothers, Guadalupe, Jose and Felipe Mijares.
MarySue is survived by her beloved son Joseph "Joey" Castillo, and the Mijares and Castillo families.
Mary was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church but loved attending Mass with her son Joey at the Special Needs Mass at Immaculate Conception Chapel. She was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, and a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School. She loved participating in Catholic Charities events and was grateful for their support and special needs care of her children Melinda and Joey.
The family wishes to thank all those involved in Mary's care this past year. Special thanks to caregivers Esmeralda, Denee and Guardian Angels for their care and devotion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi.
A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
