Mrs. Kathy Lynn "Kat" Cecil Moser Jordan, 47, of Thurmont, but a lifelong member of Frederick, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Rick Charles Jordan.
Born Oct. 12, 1960 in Frederick, she was a daughter of William Emory and Kathleen Virginia Andrews Cecil Sr. of Frederick. Mrs. Jordan was a Frederick resident all her life and graduated from Thomas Johnson High School, Class of 1978. She worked in many area restaurants including the VFW, before finding a career at the Brown Pelican, where she forged lifelong friendships. She was featured in the Frederick Magazine several times as Best Waitress, Best Bartender and Best Salad Maker of Frederick. She made a lasting impression on all who met her and she was the strongest woman her friends and family have ever known.
Surviving besides her parents and husband are three sons, Christopher Michael Moser and Colter Marsh Jordan both of Frederick, and Case Daniel Jordan of Thurmont; a brother, Bill Cecil Jr. and wife Malinda of Salisbury; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dottie and Nelson Marsh of Frederick; four sisters-in-law, Susan Kelly, Julie Borum, Cindy Hanna and Kay Green; and two brothers-in-law, Gery Jordan and Gary Marsh. Several nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many many loving friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Lee Moser and her first mother-in-law, Betty Moser.
There will be no visiting or calling at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St., Frederick. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Jordan to PNC Bank, Kathy Jordan Memorial Fund.
