Survived by children Patricia (Chris) Brandfass of Lakeland, Florida, Ronald (Diane) Hawkins of Syracuse; Grandson: Tyler Hawkins of Syracuse; sister-in-law Margaret Hawkins of Huntingdon, Tennessee; sister-in-law Lena Phillips of Cochran, Georgia; Special family friends Brad (Robin) Berner; Brandon (Becca), Hadyn, Mason Berner; Chantelle (Aaron), Jackson, Presley Jo, Carter Schroeder. Many nieces and nephews.

Helen enjoyed being with family, bowling, playing cards, and traveling. Helen and Joe traveled to 49 states, Europe, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean.
Helen started her life during the great depression in Grant, Nebraska. Living on the family farm created many stories to pass on to her family. She met her husband Joe, a Georgia boy, while he was working the wheat harvest through western Nebraska. They were married on Christmas Eve in 1953 and began a life of many adventures. In the first few years of their marriage they lived in more than a half dozen states while Joe was working for the geological survey. Together they built their business Hawkins Drainage & Tile where Helen worked as the bookkeeper while being a full-time homemaker. They retired and sold their business and spent their retirement years traveling and spending time with family. Helen and Joe loved children and became grandparents to Tyler, Brandon and Chantelle.
Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.
