Sybil Katherine Petty, 38, of Bay, passed from this life on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Sybil was born in Jonesboro and lived all of her life in Bay.

She was a 2001 graduate of Bay High School and attended Arkansas State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.

Sybil was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Ralston Couples Sunday school class. She enjoyed sketching and coloring, journalizing, and playing the piano. She also enjoyed crocheting especially baby hats that she donated to the area hospital nurseries and NICUs for the little preemies. Sybil was preceded in death by her aunt, Lyn Duggin.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Vernon Petty of the home, married June 29, 2002;

one daughter, Elizabeth Petty of the home;

parents, Daniel and Dianne Harris Storr of Bay;

a brother and sister-in-law: John and Tiffany Duggin of Bay;

Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Vernon and Linda Petty of Jonesboro; and

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Brandon and Bethany Petty of Jonesboro.

Visitation at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services conducted Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Glen Putman and Rev. Jerry Parker officiating.

Burial: Nettleton Cemetery.

Active pallbearers: Terry Petty, Vernon Petty, Sr., Brandon Petty, John Duggin, Nathan Lynch and Jeremy Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers : Paramedics, EMTs and staff of Emerson Ambulance Service.
