Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.
Karen was born on July 27, 1952 to the late Clifton Preston and Gertrude Darby Jaudon in Batesville, MS. She worked at Panola Mills for 16 years and then owned and ran Don's Surplus with her husband for 38 years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles, playing Rummy and Solitare. Karen was a member of the McIvor Baptist Church and loved her church family very dearly. If you knew "Kitty", you knew she was a bit of a spitfire and would tell you what she thought.
The family she leaves behind includes her husband, Don L. Nelson of Courtland; two daughters, Susan Busby (Waylon) of Courtland, and Lacey Potts (RJ) of Batesville; two sons, William "Scooter" Stewart (Holly) of Oxford, and Donald "Tramp" Nelson of Courtland; two sisters, Ruthy Crosswhite and Emma Conway both of Batesville; 9 grandchilden and 5 great grandchildren with one on the way.
