She loved exercising and being outdoors gardening flowers. She was a hairdresser for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon; parents, Clarence and Lilian Mae Smith; brothers, Paul and Ben Smith; and sisters, Linda Hollums and Geneva Miller.
Survivors include her significant other, Ed Cooley of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
A celebration of life and homegoing for Mary Ruth Leon will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at the Grissom Memorial Chapel with Brother Ronnie Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
